I want to make sure everyone knows about this…

On February 16, 2012, the Food & Drug Administration issued a warning to consumers that certain electric toothbrushes can break during use, chiping teeth and damaging the gums around your teeth.  The warning indicated that parts flying off these toothbrushes had also resulted in cut lips, eye injuries and incidents of choking!  Eight versions of Arm & Hammer’s popular battery-operated Spinbrush, including a children’s model are involved.  For complete details, go to www.fda.com/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm291790.htm.

At home, our family uses a Braun Oral B electric toothbrush (the same model available is available at my dental office for $109.00, by the way).  I am not aware of any quality issues with this device or its replacement heads. The model we have has a built-in timer and buzzes every thirty seconds to help users make sure they brush long enough. There is also an indicator to make you aware if you may be brushing to hard.  My wife, the tree-hugger in the family, also likes that it is rechargeable.  Now if we could only get our son to use it as often as he is supposed to…
